Reveal | Day 21- March 17 | Psalm 111
Marilyn Kirk, Amber Weyrauch, Reese Weyrauch
How different would your day to day life look if you truly believed that God
is great?
“The works of the Lord are great, Studied by all who have pleasure in them. His work is honorable and glorious, And His righteousness endures forever. He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.” Psalm 111:2-4 NKJV. In the face of trials, hard times and adversity, remembering how GREAT the Lord is can be difficult. Our human brains struggle to see anything other than what is right in front of us. This is so normal. But when we shift our gaze from the immediate to the eternal, other things begin to come into view:
• We see the evidence of his provision in all circumstances.
• We see the truth of his protection over past situations.
• We see the way he transforms the negative into the positive, enriching our lives.
• We see that he is never absent, never stingy with his love, and never withholding of his generosity.
And we see all of this through remembering.
Remembering is one of the most powerful tools we have as a child of God. It is through remembering that we can see WHO he is over and over again. It is through remembering that we see evidence of his love. It is through remembering that we can find strength for the trial in front of us. So, whether it’s remembering the way he comforted you with the loss of a special pet, or remembering how He faithfully led you through a difficult job change, or remembering how he guided you to the purchase of your new home. We encourage you today to spend time remembering.
What has the Lord done for you? How has he shown up in miraculous ways? Where do you see his provision and protection in your life?
Armed with those memories, you can face the battle in front of you knowing he is the same today as he was then.
