Build a Habit – Serve Locally

There are always opportunities to get involved, inside and outside of the church! You’ll see a few specifics ways to get involved or you can reach out to each partner for specific ways to jump in.

At Mission Southside there are many ways for you or your family to plug in and use your time, treasure or talent. Sign up to bring a group to one of our open serve nights and pack backsnacks, sort donations, deliver furniture or any of the many projects we have going on. Sign up for a service project like a neighborhood food blitz, toy drive, diaper drive, or blanket drive.

This heart of the partnership at the Millbrooke apartments is all about relationships! Our desire is to spend time and invest relationally with our friends and neighbors who live in this community, through consistent Bible studies for families and kids, time spent on the playground at Central Elementary, and a partnership with the school to strengthen reading and after school ministry in the neighborhood. We’d love to have you join us!

Shelter KC is helping Kansas City’s homeless men and women experience freedom from the past and hope for the future through the love of Jesus Christ. You can be a part of making a difference in the lives of Kansas City’s homeless population by serving dinner with a team from College Church. Check out our Groups booklet to see what dates are available!

Serving our neighbors in the 5 mile radius, the Salvation Army Outpost at College Church is available 3 days a week for our community as a resource for groceries, diapers, toiletries, and even individual prayer. This crucial ministry is an on-going expression, extending Mercy to those who find themselves in need. We are always in need of volunteers to organize and shop for families, as well as take a moment to pray with them as they leave. Learn more and get involved!

When you’re in a difficult place and need a friend, to whom do you turn? Advice & Aid Pregnancy Centers is an understanding friend to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. We want to be the first place a woman turns to for emotional, practical and spiritual support. And you can help!

Shepherd’s Care Ministries (SCM) began as a Christian ministry in 2003 with the vision of helping single mothers with one or more dependent children find their way to independent living. This great partner is always looking for mentors and coaches.

College Church partners with two Olathe Title 1 schools: Havencroft and Central Elementary. Title 1 status means they have a high number of students that qualify for free or reduced cost lunches. Partnership examples include volunteering by being a lunch buddy to a student, giving teacher support, etc.

It is a mission of MidAmerica Nazarene University to provide quality counseling resources at low or no cost to Olathe, Johnson County and Kansas City community members using an income-based sliding scale.

In 1997, a first of its kind partnership was created between Campus Crusade for Christ and the Church of the Nazarene World Missions to show the JESUS film to lost people around the world, disciple new believers and start new churches.

NCM partners with local Nazarene congregations around the world supporting them in their efforts to serve others, provide emergency relief, create change in their communities, and point people toward the love of God through Christ.
