Friday, May 13 | Day 13

2 Chronicles 20:6
Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.
Scripture Insights
The rhetorical question at the beginning of this verse is a reminder that we are not praying to just any run-of-the-mill god. We are calling out to the God of heaven, the one and only Lord of heaven’s armies!
Sometimes our prayers are routine as we go through our typical moments and days. At other times the circumstances and problems we encounter are anything but routine; they seem insurmountable. And then there are those moments when the Holy Spirit challenges us to trust and obey for something way beyond our own abilities and resources. Those moments call for serious faith, surrender, and confidence in our all-powerful God.
Today’s Prayer
Father, I ask you today that the full force of heaven would be present in what I am called to face. May I trust that your power and might will overcome any challenges and bring about what honors you, blesses your children, and speaks to all who need to know you.
Prayer Journal Reflections
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you today about the Lord’s protection, direction, and revelation for your life and the life of the church?
